July 4th, 2009

Our 4th of July celebration was very nice as usual. This year was especially nice because Scott was able to be there with us. This is a pic of some of the people at our clubhouse observing the fireworks. The clubhouse provided a lifeguard for the pool, which is great since there's so many kids in the pool at once. She was good at her job too!

Anyone attending was to bring a side dish and dessert tray, so as usual there was so much good food. Donations were made to provide chicken, steak, hamburgers and hotdogs. Volunteers from our neighborhood did the cooking, and what fine job they did!

The donations also went towards the fireworks, and let me tell you they didn't skimp on them. The show was the best yet at our community! They lasted for a whole hour! Troy kept complaining because it was getting late and he was ready to go home to bed. Every time the popping paused he would stand up ready to go, then plop back down whinning how they should be done now, and how long it's taking. Gunnar was enjoying socializing and being up late. Scott couldn't believe how nice everything was too. I'm hoping he'll be able to enjoy it with us again next year! Hope you all had a great time too!
