Practice Has Begun

Baseball practice for 2009 has begun! The day after drafting of the players the YANKEES started practice. They've had 7 days of practice in this week! This year Gunnar is playing on a different league than the last several years. Gunnar's coach is Scott's boss. :) Coach Ripicky is very into baseball (serious) His team won the finals last year. His coaching ability is amazing and that's what we are exited about. Gunnar has already learned so much about the game, and has shown so much improvement on his skills. The players have already started bonding as a team and supporting each other. No nonesense in the Majors.

Gunnar is on a Major League team (Yankees) ages 10-12. His first year with the big boys! The pitching machine they use is a bit scary but the team is doing great. Other Major's haven't had any practices yet and we've had several. Opening day isn't until Sunday February 8th and our team doesn't even play that day. This will be an exciting season! Sorry about the blurr- I keep forgetting my camera. The night of this pic it was so cold out I didn't want to even stand up, I just wanted to stay sitting with my blankie. :) So I took this with my phone's camera. It was a bit scary trying to get around the fence and stand there with all the balls flying everywhere. I'm having so much fun watching though.

As soon as I'm done filling in at work I'll need to consider if I can fit in time to sign Troy up for tennis. He doesn't care but is bored at Gunnar's baseball practices. Practice days and times for Gunnar are so unpredictable and so frequent. Ohhh, parental decisions. How much running around can we handle?

Well, I have work Monday through Thursday this week. Monday I'm getting off a little early because Scott & I have a wedding to do, believe it or not. So I'll have a late night and then have to work on Tuesday AM. Somehow get Gunnar to baseball practice too! Boy am I glad this is just short term. All my family is glad too! ;) They miss me not being home all the time. At the same time I'm enjoying it!
